Ontario’s Green Energy Act

The Green Energy Act (GEA) was designed to turn Ontario into the world-leader in renewable energy production and kickstart  “Green” power generation.

Ideally, GEA can provide above-average returns to landowners and small businesses who install small renewable energy generation systems by ensuring that 100% of the power generated will be purchased at premium rates by the local utility through a Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program.

The FIT program guarantees that any power generated by a solar system with a 10 kW or less capacity will be purchased by the Ontario Power Authority and local utility. The contract is fully transferable and thus increases the value of your property. You can also sell the contract at a later date.

Legislation and opportunities change or are suspended from time to time, so please contact a Fritzall representative today for an update on the latest situation.
